ANATOLO terms and conditions

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Article 1 — Who we are

ANATOLO is a trading name of [BEDRIJFSNAAM], established at [ADRES], the Netherlands, registered with the Chamber of Commerce under [KVK], VAT identification number [BTW-ID]. Director: [BESTUURDER]. Contact us at [E-MAIL] or [TELEFOON]. In these terms, “ANATOLO”, “we” and “us” refer to this business. We operate anatolo.nl, anatolo.de and anatolo.com.

Article 2 — Scope and definitions

These terms apply to every ANATOLO offer and every distance contract between ANATOLO and a customer through anatolo.nl, anatolo.de or anatolo.com.

A consumer is a natural person acting outside a trade, business or profession. A business customer acts in the course of a trade, business or profession, such as a restaurant, butcher, caterer or wholesaler. Provisions applying only to consumers or business customers are identified. Mandatory consumer rights are never restricted by these terms.

We deliver only in the Netherlands and Germany. For customers resident or established in Germany, the German terms (AGB) on anatolo.de also apply. In a conflict, the German text prevails for those customers.

We may amend these terms. The version in force when an order is placed applies to that order.

Article 3 — Our offer

We sell kitchen knives, butcher’s knives and related products. Every offer contains a complete, accurate description so you can assess the product. Images are representative; small differences in colour, wood grain or the finish of handmade products may occur and do not constitute a defect.

Obvious mistakes or errors, such as an evidently incorrect price, do not bind us. Any limited offer period or conditions are expressly stated.

Our knives are sharp tools intended for adult use in kitchens and butcher shops. We do not sell to persons under 18. By ordering, you declare that you are an adult.

Article 4 — Formation of the contract

You place an order by completing checkout and clicking the button labelled “Order with an obligation to pay” or equivalent clear wording. Until then, you can review and correct your details and basket.

The contract is concluded when we confirm your order by email. An automatic acknowledgement is not acceptance; the order confirmation with invoice is. Until we acknowledge receipt, you may cancel the contract.

The contract is concluded in Dutch, or in German on anatolo.de. The Turkish version is a convenience translation; in a discrepancy, the Dutch or German text applies respectively.

We store the contract text and email its essential details—product, price, shipping, withdrawal right and these terms—in a format you can retain. Order details are also available in your account if you created one.

Within the law, we may assess your ability to meet payment obligations, for example with Klarna deferred payment, and may refuse an order with reasons or impose particular conditions.

Article 5 — Prices

Consumer prices are in euros, including VAT and excluding shipping. Shipping costs are clearly shown separately before completing the order. For business customers, we may show prices excluding VAT, with VAT separately stated during checkout and on the invoice.

Prices do not increase during a stated offer period, except for changes resulting from VAT rates. When reducing a price, we state the lowest price charged in the preceding 30 days as required by law.

Article 6 — Payment

Payment is possible by iDEAL, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Klarna, Bancontact and giropay. Payment takes place during checkout unless you choose a deferred or instalment option provided by Klarna, to which Klarna’s terms apply.

After acceptance, we may offer business customers payment by invoice within 14 days of the invoice date, unless agreed otherwise. Late payment puts the business customer in default automatically, with statutory commercial interest and out-of-court collection costs payable.

You must promptly notify us of errors in payment details supplied or stated.

Article 7 — Delivery and shipping

We ship only to addresses in the Netherlands and Germany, using DPD, at the delivery address you provide.

Shipping costs: Netherlands €4.95, free from €59; Germany €6.95, free from €79.

Estimated delivery after dispatch: 1–2 working days in the Netherlands and 2–4 in Germany. In-stock orders received before [CUT-OFF-TIJD] on working days are normally dispatched that day. Delivery is no later than 30 days after concluding the contract unless a longer period is agreed.

If we cannot deliver within 30 days, we inform you and you may terminate without charge. We refund amounts paid without delay and within 14 days.

For consumers, risk of damage or loss transfers upon delivery to the consumer or their nominated third party. For business customers, risk transfers upon delivery to the carrier.

Knives are packed with blade protection in a sturdy box. Check deliveries on arrival. Preferably report visible transport damage immediately by email with photographs so we can address it with the carrier. Reporting later does not restrict consumer rights. See our shipping policy for details.

Article 8 — Withdrawal and 30-day returns guarantee

Consumers have the statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of receipt without reasons (Article 6:230o of the Dutch Civil Code). We voluntarily extend returns to 30 days, with additional conditions for days 15–30.

Handle the product and packaging carefully. You may unpack and inspect the knife as in a shop, including holding it and assessing balance and finish. Cutting, sharpening, honing, washing (especially in a dishwasher), engraving or otherwise using it exceeds what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.

Where you are liable for diminished value resulting from such handling, we may deduct it from the refund (Article 6:230s(3) of the Dutch Civil Code). A used, washed or sharpened knife cannot be sold as new for hygiene and safety reasons, so the deduction may reach 100% of its purchase price.

Withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised, such as engraved knives or custom handles (Article 6:230p(f) of the Dutch Civil Code), as stated on the product page.

Business customers have no statutory withdrawal right; returns require prior written permission. Our returns policy, including the withdrawal button, model form and extended-period conditions, forms part of these terms.

Article 9 — Conformity and statutory rights

We warrant that products conform to the contract, stated specifications, reasonable requirements of quality and usability, and legislation applicable when the contract is concluded (Article 7:17 of the Dutch Civil Code).

For non-conforming goods, consumers are entitled to free repair or replacement or, where impossible or not reasonably required of us, a price reduction or termination. A defect arising within 12 months of delivery is presumed to have existed at delivery unless incompatible with the nature of the product or defect.

Report defects within a reasonable time after discovery; a report within two months is always timely. We contact you to arrange a solution and pay the costs of returning defective products.

Defects do not include normal wear, an edge dulled by use, discolouration or staining from acids, salt or moisture when not promptly dried, dishwasher damage, incorrect sharpening, misuse such as chopping bone or frozen food with an unsuitable knife, dropping, or insufficient care of wooden handles.

Business customers must inspect products immediately and report visible defects within 8 days of delivery and hidden defects within 8 days of discovery, failing which the right to complain lapses. Our liability for defects to business customers ends 12 months after delivery and is limited to repair, replacement or credit at our choice.

Article 10 — Two-year manufacturer’s warranty

In addition to and without affecting statutory rights, [BEDRIJFSNAAM], [ADRES], as guarantor, provides a two-year commercial warranty from delivery on material and manufacturing defects in all ANATOLO knives, including loose handles, cracked steel, faulty rivets or incorrect blade hardening.

The warranty applies in the Netherlands and Germany. It excludes normal wear, dull edges, dishwasher damage, incorrect sharpening, misuse, drop or impact damage, corrosion caused by insufficient maintenance, and third-party modifications.

To claim, email [E-MAIL] with your order number, a description and photographs. We assess claims within 5 working days. If covered, we provide free repair, equivalent replacement or refund at our choice. We pay shipping costs for warranty cases.

This warranty does not restrict statutory conformity rights under Article 9, which may be exercised free of charge.

Article 11 — Safe use

Our knives are very sharp. Keep them away from children, use them only for cutting food on a suitable board and follow the care instructions supplied and published on our website.

Products are intended for food contact and comply with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004. Wash knives by hand, dry immediately and oil wooden handles regularly.

Article 12 — Retention of title

Products remain our property until you have paid everything owed under the contract. This does not affect the transfer of risk on delivery under Article 7, paragraph 5.

Article 13 — Liability

We are liable in accordance with the law. We do not limit liability to consumers beyond what the law permits.

For business customers, except in cases of intent or deliberate recklessness, liability is limited to the invoice amount of the order concerned and excludes consequential loss, lost profit and business interruption.

Article 14 — Complaints and disputes

Submit complaints about performance of the contract, fully and clearly described, to [E-MAIL] within a reasonable time after discovering the problem. We reply within 14 days. If more time is needed, we acknowledge receipt within 14 days and state when a substantive response can be expected.

If we cannot resolve the matter, consumers may submit the dispute to the competent court. The European ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.

We are not affiliated with a dispute resolution committee. [OPTIONEEL: Zodra wij zijn aangesloten bij Thuiswinkel Waarborg of een andere geschillencommissie, vermelden wij dat hier.]

Article 15 — Governing law and jurisdiction

Contracts with ANATOLO are governed by Dutch law. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) is excluded.

Consumers living in Germany retain the protection of mandatory German consumer provisions under Article 6(2) of the Rome I Regulation.

Consumer disputes are submitted to the court competent under the law. Business disputes are submitted exclusively to the competent court of the district [ARRONDISSEMENT], the Netherlands.

Article 16 — Other provisions

If a provision is void or voidable, the remaining provisions remain in force. It is replaced by a valid provision reflecting its intention as closely as possible.
